Choreographers need spaces to showcase their work, and dancers need opportunities to perform, especially during times when there is much in society to comment about.  Because DANCE can be one of society's most powerful influences, communities benefit from creating space for DANCE ARTISTS to thrive.  The Rockford DanceMakers Festival is one such space.

​The Rockford DanceMakers Festival is an annual event that showcases the work of dance artists.  This inaugural season, the Festival will feature the work of eight to ten choreographers.  The Festival also provides opportunities for those with expertise in technical directing, lighting design, sound design, costume design, graphic design, photography, videography, marketing, and administration, among other areas.  The network among Rockford-area artists will be strengthened, and new connections will be created.  Community resilience will be strengthened through in-kind contributions, including rehearsal space, fiscal agency, and volunteering.  With hard work and sweat comes a result: a dance-centric event that will benefit the greater Rockford dance community and its audiences by moving, inspiring, challenging, energizing, and entertaining through annual productions.
